Early life and background

Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni was born on 4 September 1995 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Raised in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, she completed her schooling at Delhi Public School in Durg and went on to earn a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu. From a young age she trained in Kathak and was recognized as one of the youngest practitioners in her hometown area.

Career

Bhakuni began her career in the entertainment industry as a singer and songwriter. In 2013 she released an English music album titled Real Me. She also appeared in multiple music videos, including a Malayalam video called Vizhiyil in 2015 and a 2022 Haryanvi video titled Chandigarh Ki Chamakti Rani.

Her on-screen acting career spans television, web series and films. Early television appearances include the role of Kayadhu in the mythological series Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan (2015) and a supporting part as Riya Jakhar in Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki (2017). In 2017 she was also seen in the Hindi web series Strugglers on ZEE5.

She earned attention for her portrayal of Sugandha in the historical comedy-drama Tenali Rama in 2019 and later appeared as Ramabai in the historical drama Khoob Ladi Mardaani – Jhansi Ki Rani the same year. In 2020 she took a lead role as Bhoomi in season 2 of the Telugu television series Bandham on Gemini TV. Other television credits include Saam Daam Dand Bhed (2017), Vighnaharta Ganesh (2018), Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi (2019) and Gupta Brothers (2021).

Bhakuni made her Hindi film debut with a role in Samrat Prithviraj (2022), and also appeared in Ajay Wardhan (2022). She played Janu, a negative character, in the Hindi web series Exit (2022) on the Ullu platform. In 2022 she was cast as Bhavana in the multilingual film Sasanasabha, released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. In 2024 she portrayed Goddess Parvati in the television adaptation Srimad Ramayana on Sony Entertainment Television.
