Early life and backgroundAjay Jadeja was born on 1 February 1971 in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Raised in a family with roots in Gujarat and Kerala, he grew up in an environment connected to cricketing and regional traditions. Career
Jadeja made his international entrance in limited-overs cricket on 28 February 1992 against Sri Lanka and debuted in Tests later that year on 13 November 1992 versus South Africa in Durban. Over the 1990s he established himself as an aggressive middle-order batsman and an outstanding fielder, often relied upon to accelerate scoring in the latter stages of an innings.
A defining moment of his playing career came in the 1996 Cricket World Cup when he scored a rapid 45 off 25 balls in a high-pressure quarterfinal against Pakistan.
