Anjali Sivaraman was born in October 1997 and raised in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Music was a constant presence in her upbringing: her mother is a playback singer and family gatherings often revolved around singing. She trained in art and design, completing diplomas at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore and at the University of the Arts London.

Her father is Vinod Sivaraman, a former Indian Air Force pilot, and she has a younger sister, Aditi Sivaraman, who works as a filmmaker, actor and model. Anjali grew up with a fondness for animals and later kept pet dogs and cats; she also volunteered with the World Cat Federation in 2013.

Career

Anjali’s performing career began in short film and advertising. Her first credited acting appearance was in the silent short Jenny (2017), in which she played the title role. She worked in hospitality in London after finishing her diploma, and on returning to India she pursued modelling before moving to Mumbai to work behind the camera as an assistant to a film director.

A chance audition led to her first television commercial, for Vivo, where she appeared alongside Ranveer Singh. That commercial opened the door to additional advertising work; she has since been featured in spots for Center Fresh, La Shield, Sofy, Whisper and Tinder. In print, she has modelled collections for designers such as Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Masaba Gupta.

Anjali expanded into episodic and digital drama, appearing as Meera in the ALTBalaji web series PM Selfiewallie (2018). She continued to make short-form and independent film appearances, including the Hindi short It’s Complicated (2020), and made her Hindi film debut in Cobalt Blue (2022) in the role of Anuja Dixit.

Alongside acting and modelling, Anjali pursues music. She has posted cover recordings on her YouTube channel, including versions of “Unchained Melody,” “La Vie En Rose” and “Hurt You.” Her interest in music traces back to childhood choir participation and later formal training.
