Early life and backgroundAnusha Mani was born on 29 March 1985 in Mumbai, India. She grew up in a family where music was a central part of life and began formal training in Carnatic music under Meera Nathan. As a child she performed in Gujarati theatre, which brought her into contact with other musicians and helped shape her early artistic path.
Career
Anusha’s first recorded break in Hindi cinema came in 2007 when she sang the song "Dhoka" for the film Johnny Gaddaar under the guidance of the composer trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy. That debut led to a series of playback opportunities across a range of mainstream films. Over the years she contributed vocals to soundtracks for titles including Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Dev.D., Aisha, Game, Chennai Express and Shaandaar. One of her better-known film songs was "Gulaabo" from Shaandaar, released in 2015.
In addition to film work, Anusha has released independent music. Her first non-film single, "Savera," was released on 6 October 2017. On television, she has appeared as a mentor; in 2018 she served as the mentor for the South Zone on the &TV reality show Love Me India Kids.
