Ashish Chanchlani Biography
Ashish Chanchlani is an Indian comedian, actor and one of the country's most-followed YouTube creators. Rising from short-form comedy on social platforms,他
Early life and backgroundAshish Chanchlani was born on 8 December 1993 in Ulhasnagar, Mumbai, Maharashtra. From a young age he was drawn to films and performance, and he enjoyed mimicking teachers and entertaining classmates. As a child he faced self-consciousness about his weight, which at times limited his participation in school events, but a memorable school performance that reworked assigned dialogue encouraged him to pursue acting more seriously.
Despite his passion for performance, Ashish’s family emphasized the importance of formal education. After completing higher secondary school, he enrolled at Datta Meghe College of Engineering in Mumbai and completed a B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Alongside his engineering studies he trained in acting at the Barry John Acting School in Mumbai, balancing academic expectations with his ambition to perform.
Career
Ashish began creating short comedy clips for social media, first posting on Facebook and Instagram. A brief, six-second comedy clip he once saw online inspired him to make similar material. Over time his sketches and observational comedy found a growing audience, and in 2014 he began uploading regularly to YouTube.
His channel grew rapidly as viewers responded to his comic timing, character-driven sketches and relatable scenarios. He moved from campus events and hosting duties at college to full-time content creation, eventually building a national profile. He is recognised as one of India’s most successful YouTubers and is noted in the excerpt as the fourth individual creator from India to receive YouTube’s Diamond Play Button and the first individual creator from Maharashtra to do so.
Ashish has collaborated with established Bollywood figures, including appearances with Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and the artist Badshah. Those collaborations and his consistent output helped expand his audience beyond short-form social clips into larger mainstream exposure.
Public profile
Ashish’s family includes his father, Anil Chanchlani, who runs a multiplex in Mumbai, and his mother, Deepa Chanchlani, who works as a financial analyst. He has a sister, Muskan Chanchlani, who also creates content online. The family background and his parents’ guidance — especially around education — are presented as influential in his early life choices.
He has often credited his childhood love of films and a particular admiration for actor Akshay Kumar as motivating influences. While he could have joined the family business, he chose to pursue a career in entertainment and content creation instead.
