Early life and background

Bhuvan Avnindra Shankar Bam was born on 22 January 1994 in Vadodara, Gujarat, into a Maharashtrian family. His family later moved to New Delhi, where he grew up and completed his education. He attended Green Field School in New Delhi and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in History from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College.

Bhuvan’s household includes his parents, Avnindra Bam and Padma Bam, and a younger brother, Aman Bam, who works as a pilot. He has described himself as unmarried. He lists acting, traveling, and playing the guitar among his interests.

Career

Bhuvan Bam began sharing videos online in 2015. He initially posted content on Facebook and later shifted focus to YouTube, where his sketches—shot simply from a front room using a mobile phone—quickly found a large audience. His early videos became widely shared across borders and helped him build a dedicated following.

His breakthrough approach was to perform multiple characters himself, switching between them within a single sketch. Over time he developed a roster of recurring personas that became familiar to viewers, including names such as Bhuvan, Banchoddas, Sameer Fuddi, Titu Mama, Bablu, Janki, Mrs. Verma, Adrak Baba, Mr. Hola, Papa Maakichu, Detective Mangloo, Dr. Sehgal, and Babli Sir. That format remains central to the channel that made him famous, BB Ki Vines.

As his online presence expanded, Bhuvan diversified into related creative work. He launched a production channel for short films and web series, and created the short film Plus Minus, which earned recognition at the Filmfare Awards. He also produced a digital talk series titled Titu Talks in 2018; its first guest was Shah Rukh Khan.

In 2021 he released an eight-episode web series on his channel called Dhindhora. Alongside his comedic work, Bhuvan has pursued music: beginning with the 2016 release “Teri Meri Kahani,” he has written, composed, and performed a number of songs including “Sang Hoon Tere,” “Safar,” “Rahguzaar,” and “Ajnabee.”

Public profile

BB Ki Vines grew into one of India’s most-watched comedy channels, accumulating tens of millions of subscribers. Bhuvan is known for converting modest early production resources into widely viewed content through strong character work and relatable writing. His public image centers on his role as a multi-talented creator: comedian, actor, writer, singer, lyricist, and entrepreneur.

Latest updates

Bhuvan continues to produce scripted content, music, and longer-format projects through his production channel. His web series and short films extend the scope of his storytelling beyond short-form sketches, while occasional high-profile guests and collaborations keep his channel visible to mainstream audiences.
