Early life and backgroundEkta Ravi Kapoor was born on 7 June 1975 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family with film-industry roots — her father is actor Jeetendra and her mother is producer Shobha Kapoor — she grew up in the city where she later built her production career. Ekta attended Bombay Scottish School and went on to study at Mithibai College in Mumbai.
