Early life and background

Harikrishnan S., sometimes credited as Hari Krishnan or simply Hari, was born in Vaikom, Kerala, and grew up in a Malayali family. He completed his schooling at Sathragraha Memorial Srinarayana Higher Secondary School in Vaikom and went on to earn a BA in English from Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam. He also studied at Vineeth’s School of Media Studies. His hometown is listed as Kochi. Harikrishnan follows Hinduism and counts reading among his hobbies.

Harikrishnan entered the public eye through television, appearing as a contestant on the Asianet talent show Screen Test in 2007.
