Early life and background

Hira Khan was born on January 1, 1995, in Lahore, Pakistan. Raised in a household that later separated during her teenage years, she grew up alongside a younger brother and two younger sisters, one of whom is named Huma Khan. Her upbringing in Lahore shaped her early interests in performance and public-facing activities.

While at school and college she took part in stage plays, skits and dance competitions. During those years she also spent time teaching autistic children who lived near her home. For higher education she enrolled in an affiliate program of the University of London International Programmes and completed a bachelor’s degree in Digital Innovation and Management.

Career

Hira’s entry into the public eye came through pageantry. In 2017 she entered and won the Miss Veet Pakistan competition after auditioning from Lahore. As the contest winner she fulfilled a year-long contract which included campaigns and advertising work for Veet.

Following her pageant success she moved into modelling and commercial work. She has appeared in television advertisements for brands including Ufone Pakistan, Sprite and Tooo Gud Biscuit. She also completed an acting course in Islamabad before transitioning to on-screen dramatic roles.

On screen, Hira’s acting debut on television was in the Hum TV drama Phaans (2021), where she played the character Farah. She had earlier acted in the 2020 Urdu short film Mulaqat. Subsequent television appearances include roles in Mere Humsafar (2021; ARY Digital), Rang Mahal (2021; Geo TV), Woh Pagal Si (2022; ARY Digital) and Guru (2023; Express TV).

Her interests include adventure sports and travel, activities she pursues when time allows from her professional schedule. In 2022 she was included in Trailblazers Pakistan’s Hot 100 list, a recognition of rising public figures in the country.

Personal life

Hira is married to actor Arslan Khan; the couple married in February 2023. The two met through a mutual friend after Hira had moved temporarily to a friend’s apartment following a power outage in Karachi. Their friendship developed into a relationship, and after several years together Hira proposed to Arslan during a flashmob she organised.

Hira’s personal tastes include a fondness for the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and the singer Atif Aslam. She cites Shah Rukh Khan as a favourite actor and enjoys foods such as noodles. She follows a non-vegetarian diet.
