Early life and backgroundJaan Nissar Lone was born in 1985 in the village of Sheeri in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. He completed his schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Shahkote, Baramulla, and graduated from the University of Kashmir. He later earned a master's degree in Indian and Western music, music theory, and composition from Trinity Music School in London.

Lone built a career as a composer and singer who works across Hindi and Kashmiri music. After finishing his studies in London he returned to India and relocated from Kashmir to Mumbai to pursue music professionally. He founded AR Music Studios, described as Kashmir’s first international music record label, and the production house claims rights to a large catalogue of songs.
