Early life and background

Jasmin Bhasin was born on 28 June 1990 in Kota, Rajasthan, and grew up in the Raja Park neighborhood. She comes from a middle-class family; her parents are Surpal Bhasin and Gurmeet Kaur Bhasin, and she has a brother, Mankaran Singh. Jasmin spent childhood summers in Jaipur with her maternal grandparents and has shared memories of visiting her grandfather’s shop in Bapu Bazaar.

Jasmin completed a graduation in hospitality. Early in her working life she took internships — including a marketing internship with American Express and another in the hospitality field — and it was during an early modelling assignment that she was first noticed for on-camera work.

Career

Bhasin moved from modelling and advertising into acting after being spotted by a Tamil director while modelling for a jewellery advertisement. Her film debut came in the Tamil production Vaanam (2011), in which she played the role of Priya. She continued working in South Indian cinema with credits that include Karodpathi (2014), Veta (2014), and Ladies & Gentlemen (2015).

Alongside films, Jasmin established a presence on Hindi television. She has appeared in series such as Tashn-e-Ishq (2015) — the role that brought her wider recognition on TV — followed by Dil Se Dil Tak (2017), Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji (2019), and Naagin: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel (2019).

Bhasin has also taken part in several television reality formats. Her reality TV appearances include Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 (2019), Khatra Khatra Khatra (2019), Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi– Made in India (2020), and Bigg Boss 14 (2020). She won two Gold Awards in 2016 for her work on Tashan-E-Ishq.

Public profile

Physically, Jasmin is reported to be 5'3" (161 cm) tall with black hair and black eyes. Her personal interests include dancing, cooking, reading, and adventure sports — she is described as an adventure enthusiast who enjoys activities such as scuba diving. She is a self-described dog lover and keeps two pet dogs named Mia and Rambo.

Jasmin follows Sikhism and identifies as a non-vegetarian. She has said she did not receive formal professional training in acting. In interviews she has also shared that she drinks alcohol.

Personal life and incidents

Jasmin is unmarried. Media reports have linked her romantically in the past with individuals named in popular coverage, though those are noted as rumored. In 2016 she experienced a road accident while returning from a shoot; she has said that although her car was badly damaged, no one was hurt. In July 2024 she revealed that she had damaged her corneas after wearing contact lenses to attend an event in Delhi.

Latest updates

Jasmin remains active in the entertainment industry, continuing to be known for both scripted television roles and reality show appearances. Her combination of on-screen work, modelling origins, and public presence on reality television has kept her a recognizable face in Indian television.
