Early life and background

Kai Madison Trump was born on May 12, 2007, in New York City. She is the eldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Haydon and grew up in a family with strong ties to business and public life. Her family includes several siblings: brothers Donald Trump III, Tristan and Spencer, and a sister, Chloe Sophia Trump. Her grandfather is former U.S. President Donald Trump. Kai carries American nationality and was raised in a Christian household.

Career

Kai Trump is primarily described as a student and a social media influencer, with golf at the center of her public life. She began playing golf at a very young age and developed rapidly through structured training. While at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach County, Florida, she became captain of the varsity golf team in her second year and helped the team secure multiple regional and conference titles.

Her competitive record includes winning the 2022 Women’s Club Golf Championship and the 2024 Ladies Club Championship at Trump International Palm Beach. During the 2024 club championship she recorded a competitive handicap index of +0.5, a level that helped lead to a sponsorship from golf equipment brand Callaway. She has played rounds with her grandfather on private courses belonging to the family and has balanced competition with public appearances tied to her family’s profile.

Public profile

Alongside golf, Kai has built a social media presence across platforms such as Instagram, YouTube and Twitter. Her visibility rose markedly after she spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where she described her relationship with her grandfather and spoke about him personally. Media reaction to that appearance varied; some commentators praised the emotional effect of her remarks while others framed the speech in a political context.

Following the convention appearance in July 2024, her Instagram follower count increased rapidly—from roughly 125,000 to 185,000 in less than a day, and reaching about 333,000 by the end of that month. She later posted a vlog capturing moments from the 2024 presidential election celebration, and the video included a lighthearted aside about Elon Musk.

Kai has said she prefers to keep her focus on golf rather than politics. At the same time, after the 2024 election she became a visible figure helping to connect her grandfather’s campaign to younger audiences, particularly young women.

Personal interests and activities

Outside of competition, Kai is an avid fitness enthusiast who shares gym and training posts on social media. She is an animal lover and frequently features her pet dog in online posts. In August 2024 she announced a verbal commitment to play collegiate golf for the University of Miami as part of the 2026 signing class.

Latest updates

Recent milestones include her 2024 club championship win at Trump International Palm Beach, the Callaway sponsorship that followed her strong performances, and the public announcement of her intention to play golf at the University of Miami. Her online following and public profile expanded significantly after her RNC speech and election-related vlogging in 2024.
