Madhyama Segal was born on 28 October 1994 and raised in Delhi. She grew up in a family with a strong artistic heritage: her mother is actress Sujata Segal and her maternal grandmother, Kiran Segal, is a noted Odissi dancer who trained Madhyama in the classical form. Her great-grandmother was veteran performer Zohra Sehgal.

Madhyama studied history at college. From an early age she participated in theatre and stage productions, including community Ramleela performances in which she appeared alongside her mother and grandmother.

Madhyama works as an actress and dancer. She made her screen debut in the 2023 Netflix web series Class, a Hindi adaptation of the Spanish drama Elite, playing the character Saba Manzoor.

Her training in Odissi has led to numerous stage performances across India and abroad.
