Early life and background

Mani Dharamkot was born in 2010 in the village of Dharamkot in Punjab. He grew up in a modest household; his father works as a labourer and his mother supports the family by doing sewing work. Mani also has a younger sister. He is currently continuing his school education at the local government school in his village.

From an early age Mani loved listening to and singing songs. He developed his voice without formal training, learning by ear and practicing what he heard. His story drew attention not only because of his talent but also because he came to auditions wearing a shirt stitched by his mother, a detail that moved judges and audiences and became a memorable part of his performances on television.

Career

Mani rose to wide public notice as a contestant on Superstar Singer Season 2, a televised singing competition judged by Himesh Reshammiya, Javed Ali, and Alka Yagnik. He reached the finale and finished as the first runner-up. During the season he became a favourite with the judges, guest performers, and viewers thanks to the consistency of his performances and the emotional connection he established through his backstory and voice.

While he did not take the winner’s title, Mani’s appearances on the show led to increased visibility. He earned praise from notable industry figures who responded warmly to his talent, and he received invitations and opportunities that followed from his success on the program.

Mani’s journey on Superstar Singer Season 2 brought him substantial public attention. His humility, background, and the fact that he performed in the same shirt his mother had sewn for him became talking points that resonated with audiences. Guests and established artists on the show expressed admiration for his singing, and some public figures extended invitations and support after seeing his performances.

The finale also reflected the competitive nature of the show: another finalist, Faiz Mohammad, received more votes and won the season. Viewers and commentators noted differences in experience and maturity between contestants, but Mani’s progress to the final round and the affection he garnered from viewers marked a major milestone in his young career.
