Early life and background

Maryam Noor was born on 24 February 1994 in Karachi, Pakistan. Raised in the same city she calls home, she completed her legal education at the University of Karachi and holds an LLB degree. She is one of five sisters, with four older siblings.

Career

Noor entered the entertainment industry as a television actress in 2015. Her first credited TV role was Dua in the Geo Entertainment series Ali Ki Ammi. Following that debut she took on a variety of supporting and lead parts across Pakistani television.

Over the next several years Noor appeared in multiple dramas that increased her visibility. She was featured as Batool in the Geo TV series S.H.E and portrayed Arooj in the Hum TV drama Maa Sadqey in 2018. That same year she reached wider recognition through her performance as Erum in Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai on Geo Entertainment. Also in 2018 she worked in the telefilm Jeena Hai Mushkil, playing the character Saba.

Her television work continued with roles in successive projects: she played Amber in Malaal-e-Yaar (2019) and was one of the leads in the 2021 series Banno, sharing screen space with Nimra Khan, Furqan Qureshi, Farhan Ahmed Malhi and Nawal Saeed. In 2023 she appeared in the drama Dil Pe Zakham Khaye Hain.

Noor expanded into shorter formats as well. In 2021 she appeared in the telefilm Pyaar Or Kirayedaar as Nida and acted in the short film Kahaani, which was released on the SeePrime YouTube channel. Beyond scripted work, she has been featured in commercials for brands including Uber Taxi and Telenor Pakistan.
