Early life and background
Mayuri Kango was born and raised in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, where she attended Saint Francis De Sales High School and later Deogiri College. Theatre played a formative role in her childhood; she joined stage productions alongside her mother and took on small parts that helped shape her early interest in performance.

Career
Kango made her feature-film debut as a teenager in Naseem (1995), stepping into a leading role at an early age. She followed that with a string of Hindi film appearances through the late 1990s and early 2000s, including a noted role in Papa Kahte Hai (1996). Her film work during that period also included Betaabi (1997), Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet (1999), Badal (2000), Jeetenge Hum (2001), and a role in the Telugu production Vamsi (2000), in which she played the character Sneha. She also appeared in the popular music video “Ram Ratan Dhan Payo” in 1997.

Kango moved into television around 2001, debuting in the series Nargis and subsequently appearing in several shows that year such as Dollar Bahu, Kaahin Kissii Roz, Thoda Gham Thodi Khushi, and the music program Rangoli. Over the next few years her television credits included Kittie Party (2002), Karishma – The Miracles of Destiny (2003), Kkusum (2003), and Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat (2004). Prior to her screen career she had also received recognition for stage work, notably for her portrayal of Zarina Khanna in the play Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein.

Corporate career and education
After relocating to the United States in 2003, Kango pursued postgraduate education and obtained an MBA in marketing and finance from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business in New York. She worked in the U.S. from 2004 to 2012 and then returned to India.

Kango entered the digital and marketing industry in 2007, joining 360i as an associate media manager where she planned and executed digital campaigns. In February 2009 she moved to an Omnicom Media Group company partnered with Resolution Media as a supervisor overseeing search engine marketing for clients including Pepsi, Monster, and Electrolux. She then joined Digitas in June 2010 as an associate director leading delta search business, a role she held until July 2012.

On returning to India in 2012, Kango became chief digital officer at Zenith’s ROI agency in Gurgaon, supervising the agency’s digital strategy until December 2016. In June 2016 she took on the role of Managing Director at Performics, a performance marketing agency in Gurgaon, and worked there for nearly three years. In March 2019 she was appointed Head of Industry – Agency Partnerships for Google India.
