Monica Chaudhary Biography

Monica Chaudhary is an Indian actor from New Delhi best known for her role as Kinchi in the 2023 Bollywood film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. She began in web

Early life and background

Monica Chaudhary was born on 6 September 1995 in New Delhi. Raised in a family described as orthodox, she was reportedly born to parents who had been married for many years before her arrival. Her father worked as a police officer and her mother was a homemaker. From a young age she pursued activities such as judo, art, and dance.

She finished her schooling and by class 12 had participated in a fresh-face competition that steered her toward performing arts opportunities like anchoring and radio jockeying. Although she explored various interests including interior design and wedding planning, she later committed to acting as her career path.

Career

Monica began her performing journey in theatre. She joined the Asmita theatre group under Arvind Gaur and spent about four years working on stage, including teaching theatre in a government school and running workshops to support herself. Early in her theatre days she faced resistance from her family; she has said that her father cut off her pocket money to discourage her from pursuing acting. During the period when she was establishing herself, friends from the theatre community sometimes helped her financially.

Her on-screen career started with television and web projects. One of her earliest credited TV roles was Anusha Tyagi in the series Apharan (2018). She appeared in other series including Dark 7 White (2020), Rudrakaal (2021), Good Bad Girl (2022), and Salt City (2022). For Salt City she underwent a physical transformation and reportedly gained 20 kilograms for the role of Ela Bajpai.

Monica made her film debut in Radhe (2021). Her profile rose further after commercial appearances such as a Sunfeast Mother’s Day advertisement and a Gaana campaign in 2018. A casting director who saw her work in Apharan later invited her to audition for a major film project. After several rounds of auditions and a screen test with filmmaker Luv Ranjan, she was cast as Kinchi in the 2023 Bollywood film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, a role that brought broader recognition.

Public profile

Monica is 165 cm tall (approximately 5'5"). Her listed physical measurements include a 34-25-34 figure, with black hair and black eyes. She follows a non-vegetarian diet and has interests in interior designing and sketching. She also has a tattoo reading "Karma" on her belly.

Personal anecdotes from interviews reveal moments from her career: she has spoken about narrowly avoiding drowning while shooting for Apharan and has mentioned a personal fear of lizards. She has described the challenge of breaking into films as an outsider and expressed gratitude to directors who took a chance on her.

Latest updates

In 2023 Monica Chaudhary appeared as Kinchi in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Prior to that, she continued to work across television, web series, advertisements, and film, steadily building a profile after moving to Mumbai and transitioning from theatre to screen work.
