Mukesh Choudhary Biography

Mukesh Choudhary is an Indian left-arm medium‑pace bowler from Pardodas, Bhilwara, Rajasthan who has represented Maharashtra in domestic cricket and has a

Early life and background

Mukesh Choudhary was born on 6 July 1996 in Pardodas, Bhilwara, Rajasthan. Raised in a middle‑class family, he spent part of his youth in Pune for schooling and early cricket development. He attended Sinhagad Institute in Pune and later studied at Marathwada Mitramandal Commerce College, Pune.

As a child in his village, older boys often limited his opportunities to bat or bowl, so his father enrolled him in a boarding school to give him better access to play and train. At the boarding school he tried several sports including basketball, volleyball and hockey before committing to cricket. He began playing with a leather ball and, over time, his interest in the game grew stronger than his interest in academics.

During his late teens Mukesh lived in Pune. A neighbour there, Vaishali Sawant, looked out for him and helped ensure he attended practice. He calls her "Didi." His family remained involved in his journey; his father is Gopal Choudhary, his mother is Prembai Choudhary, and he has a brother named Rajesh.

Career

Mukesh is a left‑arm medium‑pace bowler who bats left‑handed. He developed through local coaching and in 2015 joined the Twenty 2 Yards Specialized Cricket Academy in Pune. Coaches who have worked with him include Rajesh Mahurkar and Surendra Bhave; Bhave has spoken about Mukesh's tall, athletic frame and bowling action and the improvements made under coaching.

He made his first appearance for Maharashtra in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 9 November 2017. He went on to represent Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on 7 October 2019 and in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 8 November 2019. While he has established himself in domestic cricket, he has not made an international debut.

In the Indian Premier League auction in February 2022 Mukesh Choudhary was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs. 20 lakh. He wore jersey number 33 in the IPL. One notable moment from the 2022 IPL season came on 5 May 2022 when he bowled to Virat Kohli during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings; the delivery struck Kohli, and Mukesh immediately apologised.

Public profile

Physically, Mukesh is listed at approximately 175 cm (1.75 m or 5'9") and around 65 kg (143 lbs). His reported body measurements include a 42‑inch chest, 32‑inch waist and 14‑inch biceps. He has black hair and black eyes. His playing style is left‑arm medium pace with left‑hand batting.

Mukesh’s background — moving from a small village to boarding school, then to Pune for further development — is often highlighted in discussions of his progression. He has spoken about the sacrifices and support of his family, particularly his sister, in helping him stay focused through difficult periods while pursuing cricket professionally.

Latest updates

Mukesh continues to be associated with Maharashtra in domestic cricket and remains known for his performances in the IPL 2022 season with Chennai Super Kings after being acquired at the auction. He owns a BMW bike and is unmarried.
