Naveen Jaihind was born on 1 June 1981 in Bhainsru Kalan village in Rohtak, Haryana. Raised in the Rohtak area, he attended Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, where he was active in sports and represented the university at the national level. He earned a PhD in Physical Education from Maharshi Dayanand University in 2013.

Career

Jaihind became involved in public activism during the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement, commonly known as Anna Andolan. That participation brought him into contact with figures who later became central to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and he joined AAP after the movement.

Within AAP he has held several roles, including state convener and spokesperson for Haryana. He contested the 2014 Lok Sabha election from the Rohtak constituency on an AAP ticket and later stood in the 2019 Lok Sabha race from Faridabad on an AAP ticket in alliance with the Jannayak Janta Party. In 2016 he was appointed the party’s convener for Haryana and he resigned from that convenership in February 2020.

Beyond electoral politics, Jaihind runs an NGO called Jai Hind Morcha, established in 2009, which works on advocacy and research, human rights, civic issues, disaster management, education and literacy, HIV/AIDS, right to information, sports and youth affairs.
