Early life and backgroundNida Yasir was born Nida Pasha on 31 January 1974 in Karachi, Pakistan. She grew up between Karachi and Quetta, attending Montessori Complex High School in Karachi and several schools in Quetta, including Fauji Foundation Model School, St. Joseph's Convent School and Beaconhouse Juniper Campus. For two years of her primary education she studied at a school in Germany. She graduated from the University of Karachi with an honours degree in Physics.
After university Nida trained in hotel management at the Marriott Hotel in Karachi for two years. She had hoped to continue hotel studies in Lausanne, Switzerland but financial constraints led her to take acting roles to fund her ambitions. That decision helped launch a career in television rather than hospitality.
Career
Nida built a multi‑faceted career as a presenter, producer and performer. She first appeared on television in the early 2000s, including a role on the show Sub Set Hai in 2001. She later worked in serials and telefilms, appearing in Nadaaniyaan (2009) and Hum Tum (2010), and making guest and cameo appearances on other projects. On screen she has also trained in Kathak dance.
