Jannatul Ferdoush Peya was born on 4 May 1991 in Khulna, Bangladesh, and grew up in that city before moving to Dhaka. She attended Govt. Coronation Girls High School in Khulna and later studied at Milestone College in Uttara, Dhaka. Driven by a long‑held ambition to become a lawyer, she completed a Bachelor of Law from the University of London as an external student.

Peya’s public career began as a teenager when she entered the Miss Bangladesh pageant at 16 and won the Miss Bangladesh title in 2007.
