Early life and backgroundPeyush Bansal was born on 26 April 1985 in New Delhi, India. He grew up in a middle‑class family and completed his schooling at Don Bosco School in Delhi. After finishing school he went to McGill University in Montreal, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. He later attended the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, completing the MPEFB program.
Career
After graduation Peyush began his professional career in the United States, joining Microsoft in Redmond as a program manager in 2007. He worked on customer experience before returning to India to pursue entrepreneurship.
His first venture was SearchMyCampus, a classifieds portal for college students that connected them with services such as accommodation, internships, books and part‑time jobs. The classifieds model generated leads and ad revenue but Peyush found it was not scalable enough for the ambitions he had in mind.
