Prantika Das Biography

Indian model and actress from Kolkata who began modelling in college, appeared in Telugu and Bengali projects, and was a 2022 contestant on Swayamvar: Mika

Early life and background

Prantika Das was born on 14 January 1999 and grew up in Kolkata, West Bengal. She attended St. John’s Diocesan Girls’ Higher Secondary School in the city and later studied at The Heritage Academy, where she completed a Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA). Raised in a Bengali Hindu family, her mother is named Fuleswari Das.

From an early age she took part in stage activities: school theatre, singing performances and classical dance training. In interviews she has mentioned learning Bharatnatyam during her school years. The meaning of her name, she has said, is "horizon."

Career

Prantika moved into modelling while still in college. In 2017 she won her college’s Miss Fresher title. A year later, in her second year, she began pursuing modelling more seriously and was a semi-finalist in the Ponds Pujor Nandini beauty contest. In 2019 she was featured among the top 12 models in Bengal on a Bengali calendar, appeared on her college brochure cover and won the Ke Tumi Dabur Golap Pari beauty pageant.

Her on-screen debut came in Telugu cinema with the film Sadaa Nee Premalo (2020). She followed that with work in Bengali projects, appearing in the short film Jai Hind (2021) and in the feature A Day in Winter, which was released on the Disney+ Hotstar platform in 2021. She has also appeared in commercials for brands such as Parampara Red Carpet Body Oil and Moti footwear.

In 2022 Prantika reached a wider television audience as a contestant on the reality show Swayamvar: Mika Di Vohti. On the programme her entry was noted for wearing a bridal lehenga; she brought a shawl as a gift for the host and took part in early tasks that included receiving a bracelet and going on a date with Mika.

Public profile

Prantika’s physical profile is listed as 163 cm (1.63 m) tall and around 55 kg (121 lbs), with measurements reported approximately as 32-26-36. She has black hair and black eyes. She identifies as non-vegetarian and lists dancing, singing and travelling among her hobbies. She has named several favourite actors and actresses in interviews and public profiles.

She has been featured in newspapers and on social media, where she posts fitness-related content and gym photos. Her public image includes appearances at social events where she has been photographed smoking hookah and drinking wine. Prantika has described the Telugu film industry as more disciplined compared with the Bengali industry.

Personal life

Prantika is unmarried. Details about her father are not publicly listed in the available information. She continues to be based out of Kolkata and maintains an active presence in modelling and regional film work.
