Pratibha Advani was born in Gujarat in 1968 into a family active in Indian public life. She is the daughter of veteran politician L. K. Advani and the late Kamla Advani. She grew up in a household engaged with politics and public service; she has spoken of a close relationship with her father, whom she refers to familiarly as "Dada."

Advani completed her undergraduate studies at Shri Ram College of Commerce and holds a bachelor's degree in zoology. She is Indian by nationality and belongs to a Sindhi family. Her upbringing combined a political environment with an early interest in media and communication.

Career

Although connected by family to politics, Advani built a career in television and production. She worked as a television anchor on shows such as Swayam for SAB TV and has been credited with presenting several talk shows. Among the programmes she has hosted are Namaste Cinema and Retake with Pratibha Advani.

On the production side, Advani produced television series including Take Care and Yaddein for Doordarshan and she produced a patriotic documentary film titled Ananya Bharati, which marked her debut as a short film producer. On 8 May 2015 she took office as Chief Financial Officer of Tata Communications Limited and has continued in that role since then.
