Priyanka Chaturvedi was born on 19 November 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in the city she still calls home, she completed her schooling at St. Joseph's High School in Juhu and went on to study commerce at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree with an accounting focus. She later pursued entrepreneurial studies at the Indian School of Business.

Chaturvedi began her professional life in the private sector as a director at MPower Consultants, a firm involved in media, public relations and event management.
