Ragini Dwivedi was born on 24 May 1990 in Bangalore and raised in a Punjabi family with roots in Rewari, Haryana. The daughter of Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi and Rohini Dwivedi, she grew up alongside a brother, Rudraksh Dwivedi, who works as a fashion designer. Her father served in the Indian Army as a colonel.

From a young age Ragini took part in sports; she was school sports captain and represented her state in basketball. She also competed in swimming and pursued equestrian activities. For her schooling she attended Delhi Public School in Bangalore and later graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication from Indo Asian Academy, Bengaluru.

Career

Ragini began her public career in the fashion world after being noticed by designer Prasad Bidapa in 2008. She moved into modelling, walking major runways such as Lakme Fashion Week and Sri Lanka Fashion Week and working for established designers including Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar and Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She also competed in national beauty pageants, finishing as first runner-up at Femina Miss India in 2008 and winning the Richfeel Miss Beautiful Hair title in 2009.

She has also been seen in Nimirndhu Nil (2014), Janda Pai Kapiraju (2015), and Kichchu (2018). In Malayalam she appeared in Kandahar (2010) and in Tamil she had a role in Ariyaan (2012). She made a guest appearance in the Hindi film R… Rajkumar (2013).
