Rakhi Vijan, also credited as Rakhee Tandon, is an Indian television actor and producer from Mumbai best known for her role as Sweety Mathur in the 1990s.她

Early life and background

Rakhee Tandon was born on 21 July 1977 in Mumbai into a Punjabi family. She grew up in the city where she completed her schooling at Bai Ava Bai Framji Petit Girl’s High School and went on to graduate from MMK College in Bandra. Her parents are Narinder Vijan and Geeta Saigal Vijan; she has a brother, Rishi Vijan, and a sister, Pooja Vijan Puri.

Career

Tandon launched her television career in the early 1990s, making her debut on the sitcom Dekh Bhai Dekh in 1993. She achieved widespread recognition for portraying Sweety Mathur in the popular Zee TV series Hum Paanch (1995). Over the years she has appeared in a variety of serials across genres, including Banegi Apni Baat (1994), Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (2003), Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo (2009), Madhubala– Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (2012) and Naagin 4 (2019). Her television work also includes a role as Ghoongat Wali Mata in Gangaa.

Alongside acting, Tandon has worked as a producer. Credits attributed to her include the television projects Cincinnati Bubblaboo (1998) and Professor Pyaarelal (1999). She has also appeared on reality television, participating in Bigg Boss 2 in 2008.

Tandon’s film appearances are more occasional; she has had roles in Hindi films such as Golmaal Returns (2008), Thank You (2011) and Krrish 3 (2013).
