Early life and backgroundRannvijay Singh Singha was born on 16 March 1983 in Jalandhar, Punjab. He grew up in a family with a long military tradition; several generations of his family have served in the Indian armed forces. Because his father had a transferable posting, Rannvijay attended multiple schools during childhood before completing his schooling at Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi.
A keen sportsman from a young age, he pursued basketball competitively and represented his school at state and national levels. His sporting achievements helped him secure admission to Hansraj College, Delhi, where he completed a BCom (Hons) degree. After graduation he spent some time working in the United States with a construction company in New Jersey.

Rannvijay first came to public attention in 2003 when he won the inaugural season of MTV Roadies. The show launched his career on television and he went on to present and host multiple seasons of Roadies, later appearing on the series in a senior role as a gang leader.
Beyond Roadies, he has hosted a variety of youth and reality formats, including seasons of MTV Splitsvilla, MTV Force India The Fast and The Gorgeous (2009), NBA Slam (2016), MTV Troll Police (2018), and the Sony-aired Shark Tank India in 2021. General in the Indian Army who has served as a UN Force Commander in Syria, and Baljeet Kaur. He has a brother, Harman Singha, who is also an actor and VJ.
Rannvijay follows Sikhism and identifies as Indian. He is a non-vegetarian and enjoys cuisines such as Indian, Thai, Chinese and Japanese. Basketball remains one of his favourite sports and teams; he is a fan of the Golden State Warriors.
