Rinosh George Biography
Rinosh George is an Indian rapper, composer, director and actor from Ernakulam, Kerala. He rose to wide recognition with the viral Malayali anthem I'm a M:
Early life and backgroundRinosh George was born in Ernakulam, Kerala, and grew up in a Christian household. Born in 1992, he spent his school years at Shanthiniketan High School, De Paul International Residential School and Christ School in Bengaluru. He later enrolled at the Oxford College of Arts in Bengaluru to study broadcasting journalism, beginning the program in 2011. Rinosh left college during his final year to focus full time on a career in music.
Career
Rinosh’s interest in music started early; he sang in church and began working professionally as a DJ in 2009. While still in college he started writing songs and performing with friends, distributing early recordings among fellow students. His first single, Believe, arrived in 2012. Although it did not make a big impact, he kept working and performing, teaching vocal music at the ADON Institute of Music in Bengaluru from June 2012 to December 2014.
Between 2014 and 2015 Rinosh explored songs in multiple languages and collaborations. He released a Hindi song titled Meri Jaan and an international single called Sunrise that featured American and Bangladeshi rappers. In 2015 he issued This is Bengaluru, a song themed around the city’s IT culture and nightlife that went viral and attracted a larger audience.
Also in 2015 Rinosh released the track I’m a Mallu, which became his breakthrough. The song connected with Malayali listeners by addressing aspects of lifestyle and culture and achieved wide online popularity. Following that success he continued releasing music and working in audio and radio: from January 2015 to September 2017 he worked as a voice-over artist and radio jockey at Timbre Media, and in early 2018 he took a radio jockey position at 101.3 Gold FM in Dubai to support his family.
Rinosh transitioned into film with the Malayalam feature Nonsense, playing the role of Arun Jeevan, a student more interested in BMX cycling than studies. The film, directed by MC Jithin and produced by Johny Sagariga, was noted for its BMX theme and screened at the International Children’s Film Festival of Kerala in 2019. Rinosh wrote and sang songs for the film; his track Break Free drew particular attention.
He has released additional singles over the years, including Kalayullavante Cinema (2019), Love We’ll Find (2020) and Oh Machane (2023), the latter filmed during a real wedding. In October 2018 he sang a promotional track for the grooming brand Beardo titled Why Feardo? There’s Beardo.
Public profile
Rinosh is known for a multi-faceted creative identity as a rapper, composer, director and actor. His on-screen debut in Nonsense and his viral songs have been central to his public recognition. He took part in season 5 of the reality TV show Bigg Boss Malayalam, which further raised his profile among television audiences.
On a personal note, Rinosh’s parents are TJ George and Rosy George. They were initially apprehensive about his artistic ambitions but became supportive as his career progressed. He remains unmarried. Rinosh has said he is selective about film offers and prefers projects that carry a positive social message. He maintains an active fitness routine and shares workout content on his social media.
