Ruhee Dosani Biography

Ruhee Dosani is a US-based Indian content creator who gained wide attention in August 2020 after an Instagram reel was reshared by actor-singer Diljit Dosj

Early life and background

Ruhee Dosani was born on 8 March 1997 and spent part of her childhood in India before relocating to the United States. She grew up in a Sikh Punjabi family and attended St. Lawrence High School in Kandivali, Mumbai. For higher education she studied at R. D. National College in Mumbai and completed a graduation degree. During her early years she performed religious songs at the local gurudwara, and Bollywood films and music remained an influential part of her upbringing.

Career

Ruhee works in a software company in the United States while also building a parallel career as a digital content creator. She began posting dance videos with friends in the U.S., often using popular 1990s Bollywood music. A reel she posted in August 2020 reached a substantially larger audience after actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh reshared it, helping her profile grow rapidly on Instagram.

Her content frequently recreates and riffs on well-known jingles and Bollywood moments — examples include recreations of Nirma and Badshah Masala jingles as well as playful takes on songs such as Hello Hunny Bunny. She has collaborated with other influencers, brands, and actors, and she is represented by Monk Entertainment, a talent-management and influencer-marketing company.

Ruhee has described working long hours at the start of her career to cover expenses while building her online presence, and she has spoken about how Bollywood continues to inspire her creative choices. She has expressed a desire to create reels based on specific Bollywood songs and has discussed how playing Bollywood music around friends led to the earliest informal videos that launched her content journey.

Public profile

Ruhee describes herself on social media as the 'Punjab di kudi living abroad' and is known for blending Punjabi cultural identity with life in the United States. She is tech-savvy and has built an audience on Instagram that surpassed one million followers. Personal preferences she has shared publicly include a fondness for Indian cuisine, a love of Bollywood films and music, and favorite performers such as Aamir Khan, Govinda, B Praak, Ammy Virk, Diljit Dosanjh and A.R. Rahman.

Family and personal life

Ruhee’s mother is Mona Dosani, and she has an elder brother named Punit Dosani. Her father passed away in 2016. She is unmarried. While living in the United States she explored different opportunities, including a trial to join the U.S. Army that did not lead to enlistment. She has said she is a believer in manifestation and has recounted working long hours early on to support herself.

Public incidents and reception

Some of Ruhee’s posts have attracted strong reactions online. In 2022 a collaborative reel with actor Kartik Aaryan — in which they recreated a hook step from a popular film track — drew critical and mocking responses from some viewers because the move differed from the original choreography. Despite occasional negative feedback, she continues to create and publish content inspired by Bollywood and Punjabi culture.

Style and interests

Physically, Ruhee is listed at approximately 163 cm (5'4") in height and about 50 kg (110 lbs), with black hair and black eyes. She owns a Hyundai Accent. Travel interests she has mentioned include Barcelona, and her preferred color is teal. She has noted content creators she admires, such as Yashraj Mukhate, Niharika NM and Ashish Chanchlani.

Latest updates

Ruhee continues to create content while maintaining work in the software industry in the United States. In April 2022 she and her family were invited to celebrate Baisakhi at Aamir Khan’s residence in Mumbai. She remains active on Instagram, where she identifies closely with her Punjabi roots even while living abroad and where Bollywood music remains a central influence on her creative output.
