Yasmeen Shah was born on 20 June 1978 in Karachi, Pakistan. Raised in that city, she completed higher education that is reported as a Bachelor of Arts. In March 2018 the Badin District and Sessions Court ordered re-verification of the degree, and the court process continued while she appealed and sought restoration of her membership. In February 2021 a district and sessions judge convicted Yasmeen Shah of possessing and presenting a fake BA degree and sentenced her to two years’ imprisonment and a monetary fine.
