Amey Wagh was born on 13 November 1987 in Pune, Maharashtra. Raised in a large family environment, he attended Crescent High School in Pune and went on to graduate in commerce from Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC). His interest in acting began while he was still at school, and he represented his college in numerous theatre competitions during his university years.

Career

Wagh started his career in theatre and became known for a wide range of stage roles in both Marathi and English plays. His theatre work includes performances in productions such as Amar Photo Studio, Bombed, Cycle, Dalan, Geli Ekvees Warsha, The Government Inspector, Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, Natasamrat (old) and Never Mind. He is a member of the Maharashtra-based theatre group Natak Company and has performed characters ranging from youthful roles to elderly figures.

On screen, Wagh’s earliest film appearance came as a child artist in the Marathi film Kavadse. He went on to act in Marathi films such as Joshi Ki Kamble and Aaicha Gondhal (both 2008), and later appeared as Raghu in Popat (2013). In Hindi cinema he appeared in Aiyyaa (2012) as Nana and had a role as an ATC junior official in the 2018 comedy High Jack. He also played Kaustubh Godbole in the 2022 Hindi film Govinda Naam Mera.
