In 2010 he recorded the first double century by an Afghan in first-class cricket when he made an unbeaten 214 against Canada in the Intercontinental Cup. That year he was part of the Afghanistan side that won the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier and went on to play in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.
