Pavitra Punia was born Neha Singh on 22 April 1986 in Hisawada, Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. Raised in a family with roots in the Delhi region, she spent part of her childhood living in police quarters in Pitampura. Her father worked with the Delhi Police. Pavitra completed her schooling at Abhinav Public School in Rohini, Delhi, went on to graduate from the University of Delhi and also holds a diploma in hospitality and aviation.
