Sakshi Tanwar was born on 12 January 1973 in Alwar, Rajasthan. Raised in a middle-class family, she attended various Kendriya Vidyalayas across India before graduating from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi. As the youngest member of her family, she has said she was much pampered and cites her mother as an inspiration. Early jobs included work as a sales trainee at the Taj Palace in Delhi and at a clothing and accessory store, where she used her first salary to buy gifts for family members.
