Early life and backgroundVinay Gowda was born on 7 March 1979 in Bangalore, Karnataka, and grew up in the city that remains his hometown. He attended St. Ann's High School in Rajajinagar and later studied at KLE Society's S Nijalingappa College. From a young age he showed a rebellious streak at school, and at 21 he left home for Mumbai after a falling‑out with his father. In Mumbai he worked as a hotel manager for several years before moving into acting with encouragement from family.
Career
Gowda's screen career began in television. His early credits include roles in shows such as CID Karnataka (2013) and Chitte Hejje. He made his Kannada film debut with Rocket in 2015 and went on to appear in a number of TV serials and films. He became widely recognised for playing Lord Shiva in the mythological series Hara Hara Mahadeva, a role that brought him notable visibility. He later portrayed Ravana in Jai Hanumana and again took on the role of Lord Shiva in Yediyuru Shri Siddhalingeshwara.
