Early life and background

Aadhya Anand was born on 2 November 2007 in Coorg, Karnataka, to parents Anand Nayak and Priya Nayak. Although born in India, she was raised in Singapore and attended the Global Indian International School in Mumbai. She has a younger sister, Anaaya Nayak, who is also a child artist. Aadhya has described herself as a non-vegetarian and lists Deepika Padukone as a favourite actress. She is an avid dog lover and frequently shares photos of her pet dog Sky on social media.

Career

Aadhya began working in the entertainment industry very young. By the age of four she was appearing in print and television advertising in Singapore, representing brands and appearing in campaigns for names such as Cornetto, Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore. Her early exposure to performance included dance and modelling, and she later competed on television talent shows.

Her on-screen acting debut came in 2016 with the Singaporean film A Yellow Bird, in which she played the protagonist’s daughter. The same year she appeared in Utter 2016: One Hour to Daylight and won Sony TV’s Super Dancer Season 4 (Singapore). In 2017 she began working on Singaporean television, including a role as Sushila Chandran in Lion Mums Season 2 on Mediacorp and the part of Dana in Whoopie’s World. Additional Singapore credits include Manantu International 2 (2017), Word Whizz Slime Pit (2018) and Lion Mums Season 4 (2021).

In 2019 Aadhya relocated to Mumbai to focus on opportunities in the Hindi entertainment industry. She made her Hindi digital debut in 2021 with the Netflix series Bombay Begum, playing the role of Shai. Her subsequent screen work includes the Hulu series Braveheart (2022), in which she played Veera, and a role as Aadhya in Crushed Season 2 on Amazon MiniTV (2022). She is also credited in the Hindi film Friday Night Plan as Nitya.
